Haflinger-preliminary drawing for 16x20 oil portrait

I am beginning a series of paintings based on horses and cattle. When capturing an animals portrait the artist must capture their soul through design, material, and methods.....otherwise the effort is for not. This mare is very sweet and quiet with beautiful mane and forelock that goes on forever. Her color is that of golden and I can't wait to get into that color! Sold
