The porches on Madison street represent what Woodstock old town district is all about. Madison street is famous for its role in the movie Groundhog Day with Bill Murray. The tree in this painting was in the movie filmed during the scene where Bill catches the boy falling out of it. I was attracted to the bold contrast of the white chair against a burgundy porch. Loud, negative shapes are a joy to put down in luscious oil paint. Sold
