Learning Life through the Eyes of a Mule

My new adventure with horses is my interest in mules. I've been told if I could own a 'good one',  that mule would take me anywhere and be a reliable, sure-footed companion. However, if I had a 'bad' one I was in for Trouble. No other instructions were ever given. I have since acquired 2 mules...one is 'better' than the other as the one is more trusting and confident. What I am learning is its all about the handler and how much the mule trusts you to be kind, patient, consistent, yet determined. Basically that is how the donkey is. These mules will tell me what quality of horsewoman I am and I'm up for the challenge.

Raz-ma-Taz is an anxious mule who needs more trust building with me. I felt by doing his portrait I may find a way into his heart. This will be a large 20 x 30" graphite portrait done in the following style using this photograph....stay tuned!
