Rush Creek Early Spring 2011

I am posting this as of early winter, but I vividly remember this day. There is a little bridge right off the parking lot that covers a running stream in early spring. There is little color in early April, but the dried and tousled winter grasses begin to show their new green growth from underneath masses of creamy brown. This painting is about the texture of winter grasses and the rush of the stream. In a moment of glee, I rubbed weathered seeds into the paint to solidify my visual excitement.
